Prayer For Your Husband

Prayer is one of our greatest gifts and strongest weapons.

Bringing our cares to the Lord frees us and enables us to unleash God’s mighty power in our lives and the lives of others.

I have so often underestimated and underutilized this power in my life, but as I grow in this area, I am blown away by the way God is eager to work through our expectant and sincere prayers.

Books like The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson and Fervent by Priscilla Shirer have changed my prayer life and consequently my life, my marriage, our family, and the lives of those around me.

I used to pray in response to my circumstances, asking God to change them. Now I pray circles of protection before things head in the wrong direction and expectantly pray for God to bless the work of our hands.

I have this quote by R.A. Torrey written down as a reminder to be proactive in prayer:

One thing I do now is to pray consistently for my husband and children from head to toe using God’s Word. It is exhilarating to see God answer my prayers for them, and I am so grateful for His work in all of our lives! (As well as His patience… I can be a very slow learner at times.)

Below is a printable of the prayer I pray over my husband. Keep it where you will see it so you can consistently cover your husband in prayer. After it sticks in your mind, you can pray it while you walk or run, while you drive, or as you are waking up in the morning.

You can expect great things because God promises to do great things.

He

levels mountains (Isaiah 45:2),

breaks chains (Psalm 107:14),

restores (Zechariah 9:12),

resurrects (Ephesians 1:19-20),

and makes new (Revelation 21:5).

This is such good advice. The old adage “Forewarned is forearmed” applies here. God, Himself, has warned us that Satan goes about “like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.”
Thank you for the advice and collection of verses and prayers!
